SOC 219 - Sociology of Religion

Outcome 1:

Students will develop knowledge of the structures and functions of religions in the global view, historically and across societies.

Outcome 2:

Students will express an understanding of the basic premises of the major religions of the world.

Outcome 3:

Students will apply core sociological theories oto the study of religion as a social institution.

Outcome 4:

Students will demonstrate an understanding of sociological terms and concepts related to the study of religion as a social institution.

Outcome 5:

Students will examine and evaluate sociologically based perspectives regarding religion as a social institution.

Outcome 6:

Students will provide analyses of the study of religion as a social institution through formal writing as well as in small group discussion.
